“As global regulations like the EUDR, CSDDD, and Germany’s LkSG reshape agricultural trade, African suppliers face both new challenges and exciting opportunities. That’s why, building on the success of our Africa Grains Online course, we’re proud to launch the Market Compliance Online program—developed in partnership with Bühler, the African Milling School, and with support from kfW-DEG. This course is designed to equip farmer-based organizations and commodity traders with the tools they need to thrive in a more transparent, sustainable, and competitive global market.”

Why Market Compliance Matters
New regulations from major markets like the European Union are transforming sustainability expectations into legal obligations. From documenting sourcing practices to meeting human rights and environmental standards, agribusinesses must now provide verifiable proof of responsible operations.
For companies sourcing from smallholder farmers, this can be especially challenging—unless the right guidance and digital tools are in place.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce Market Compliance Online: a free training program designed to help agribusinesses understand what’s required, how to comply, and how to do so without disrupting daily operations. The course offers step-by-step support to help businesses remain competitive and compliant in international markets.
Why This Training Is Timely
Key regulations covered include:
- EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
- German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG)
- EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
These laws require businesses to trace product origins, assess supply chain risks, and ensure fair labor and sustainable environmental practices. The EUDR, for example, applies to cocoa, coffee, palm oil, soy, timber, cattle, and rubber—commodities widely produced across Africa.
If your business is part of these value chains, staying informed and compliant is essential to maintain EU market access. This course breaks down complex requirements into manageable steps, helping you continue sourcing from smallholder farmers with confidence.
Course Objective & Background
Market Compliance Online is a joint initiative by the African Milling School (a Bühler AG subsidiary) and eProd Solutions, both with deep experience supporting agribusinesses and cooperatives across Africa.
The goal: to strengthen supply chain management and promote responsible sourcing practices that benefit both people and the planet.
This program builds on the success of Africa Grains Online, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to support millers and grain traders. That course trained over 700 professionals and fostered a vibrant community of millers, traders, and food processors across the continent.
Market Compliance Online takes this further – focusing on compliance and responsible business practices now required by international buyers.
